National Recovery Month, celebrated every September since 1989, highlights the achievements of those recovering from substance use and mental health disorders. It promotes evidence-based treatment practices, honors the recovery community, and recognizes the dedication of service providers. (SAMHSA)
The month aims to raise awareness about mental health and addiction recovery, emphasizing accessible treatment and support. Through events and inspiring stories, it celebrates recovery progress and reinforces that recovery is achievable for all.
There are many resources available and ways for you to be involved. SAMHSA is an organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for substance misuse and mental health.
