Special Update from Rep. Fitzpatrick: $1 million secured for the Crisis Stabilization Center

Dear Friend,

As your Representative, one of my most important responsibilities is to bring federal resources back to our community. I successfully secured $53.2 million in funding for 36 projects that will directly benefit First District constituents through my Community Project Funding requests. Below is one project that I would like to share with you:

  • Bucks County Stabilization Center: I secured $1,000,000 for the construction and operation of the Crisis Stabilization Center, which will address the mental health and substance use disorder crisis in Bucks County. The Crisis Stabilization Center will serve as a first line of defense for people of all ages experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. To ease the pressure on our already understaffed and overworked emergency rooms, this Crisis Stabilization Center will ensure that designated healthcare professionals and critical emergency services are accessible under one roof. When an individual arrives at the Stabilization Center, they will have access to a wide range of care and recovery treatment options, including inpatient care, forensic Residential Treatment, partial hospital or out-patient care, as well as recovery support. Additionally, the Stabilization Center will be able to offer medication assisted treatment to any individual experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms from opioids or alcohol, a critical service in the effort to address substance use disorder in our community. I am proud to have partnered with the County of Bucks on this project, and as Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Task Force, I am always grateful to work with my partners on initiatives that will reduce fatal overdoses and support individuals in our community battling addiction.

I am thrilled that this community project was included in the final bipartisan spending packages. It is through the engagement of community members like you that these projects are possible; please engage with my office actively and often so that your input can be heard. You may call my local office in Langhorne anytime at (215) 579-8102.

The House of Representatives is the People’s House and is owned by you. Please engage frequently with our team so that we can best reflect your voice.
