National Suicide Prevention Month ended yesterday. But the importance of that effort never ends. During September, we talked with more than 800 people on the National 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. We are on the other end of the phone every month for persons who are in need. Suicide prevention is a big part of what we do and who we are at MCES. We started when we were founded 50 years ago. We continue our work today, often pairing with organizations throughout the region, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness, to prevent suicide. |
We also provide a comprehensive array of informational and educational materials on suicide prevention to health and behavioral health providers, community organizations, and individuals and families. You will often find our team members speaking to the community about important resources, being quoted in the news media and assisting law enforcement. Please email Tony Salvatore if you are interested in us visiting with your organization. The calendar has turned to other observances. But suicide prevention remains a focus of ours. And we welcome your contribution to our ongoing 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline work. |
Thank you, in advance, for your support. Bill Myers and the MCES Team P.S. – Remember that 988 is always available for anyone experiencing a crisis |
